Well, it's not a bad thought, Dudley but I would really miss my 756 Pro III in the shack after having saved a few years for it. On mic PTT or panel sw activation it goes into xmit, red led on, xmit indicator on display screen but no power out on panel meter or external power meter (power set to 100) (w/ good antenna). Any ideas or help or caveats or comments? Has anyone ever used the N4PY control program along with a Flex? Do you think that Minideluxe woud run at the same time as the N4PY program? Or, any ideas on how to otherwise do what I want which is to use the 1500 as a Panadapter on the 756 while preserving HRD connectivity? I guess if worse come to worse I will just buy a HLA-150 amp for the 1500 but I'd like to do it this other way. But here is the problem - I don't want to have to stop using HRD's Logbook and the DMS-780 program. The paint finish is a rough ' fingerprint proof ', flat black. The ' stamped ' in ICOM logo on the top cover, is a nice change, but must have been abit of an expense to tool up for.
I think two instances would be unuseable. The IC-756, is a handsome looking rig, with a nice finish. In other words, use the 1500 as the receiver and transmit on the 756 - changing frequencies for xmit and receive by clicking on the PowerSDR's panadapter. One thing I would much love to do would be to use my new 1500 as a Panadapter for my Icom 756 Pro III.
